On September 29, 2026, we read the lowest-rated reviews of both tools on G2. This is opinion from a small group of unhappy customers, and we have paraphrased it rather than quoting anyone. Most reviewers rate both tools well. As of that date, Buildertrend showed 4.3 out of 5 across 230 reviews on G2, and Procore showed 4.6 out of 5 across 4,328 reviews.
Read the reviews yourself and decide what matters for your company: Buildertrend on G2 and Procore on G2.
Buildertrend no longer publishes its prices. It quotes each company by custom estimate, based on yearly construction volume, which makes it hard to plan a budget before you talk to sales. We covered this in our roundup of construction software for small builders.
On G2, some long-time customers say the price went up sharply at renewal, and in one case after they were told it would not. Other reviewers say the cost is hard to justify for a small company. If you are a small builder, ask for the renewal terms in writing.
Procore also quotes by custom estimate. Independent pricing guides put it around $4,500 a year and up, and that is an estimate, not a published price. Our Procore alternative page has the details.
On G2, several reviewers say the yearly renewal was the hardest part. They describe pricing that changed from one year to the next, with no clear explanation of how the number was worked out.
Estimating comes up a lot in the low-rated Buildertrend reviews. Some reviewers say proposals and estimates live in separate modules, so you enter the same allowances and selections again on each job. One says it saved little over doing it on paper. See our Buildertrend alternative page for a fuller comparison.
A few Procore reviewers say the estimating and financial tools did not do what the sales team showed them. Procore is a large platform built for bigger companies, so a small builder may end up paying for a lot they never use.
These questions apply to any software company, including us:
Our price is on the pricing page: $199 a month, or $2,189 a year, plus $20 a month for each additional user. There is a 30-day free trial with no credit card, so you can test it on a real job first.
Estimating happens in the Project Estimator, where you set up cost categories and line items with cost type, quantity and unit cost. It shows your margin, contract price and projected profit. Estimated vs Actual then tracks your actual cost, cost variance and actual profit on the same job.

Start free trialNo. As of September 2026, Buildertrend does not publish prices. It quotes each company by custom estimate, based on yearly construction volume. That is why it is worth asking for renewal terms in writing before you sign, so you know what year two and year three will cost.
On G2, some reviewers say the price rose sharply when their contract renewed, and that they could not get a clear explanation of how it was calculated. These are the opinions of a small group of unhappy customers. Most reviewers rate both tools well, so read the reviews yourself before you decide.
Procore quotes by custom estimate and does not publish a price. Independent pricing guides put it around $4,500 a year and up, but that is a third-party estimate, not an official figure. The only way to know your price is to get a quote for your own company.
Smart Builder 360 is $199 a month or $2,189 a year, plus $20 a month for each additional user. The price is on the pricing page, so you can see it before you talk to anyone. There is a 30-day free trial with no credit card required.
Some do. But many G2 reviewers say Procore is more than a small company needs, with a steep learning curve and a price that is hard to justify. It is built for larger companies with dedicated office staff. If you run a handful of jobs at a time, a lighter tool may fit better.
Ask what year two and year three will cost, whether renewal increases are capped, what happens if you cancel, and whether you can export your files, photos and proposals. Also ask whether every feature you were shown is part of the plan you are buying, and whether you can try it first.
